The Beginning

Christian Senior Services was founded by members of St. John’s Lutheran Church and Grace Lutheran Church to provide meals and adult day care services for seniors.

Meals on Wheels Begins

Home meal deliveries officially begin with the support of local churches and volunteers, delivering thousands of meals throughout the year.

Growing Capacity

A former Wyatt’s cafeteria becomes the new headquarters, allowing expanded kitchen operations and additional Grace Place services.

 
2014 volunteers

AniMeals Launches

The AniMeals program begins, helping provide pet food to seniors’ beloved companions while volunteers continue delivering thousands of meals daily.

 
2018 rebrand

New Name, Expanded Reach

The organization officially becomes Meals on Wheels San Antonio and expands services into Frio and Atascosa Counties.

Serving Through COVID-19

During the pandemic, Meals on Wheels San Antonio rapidly expanded meal delivery services to support vulnerable seniors and neighbors in need.

Campus of Grace Opens

Meals on Wheels San Antonio moves into the new Campus of Grace, creating expanded capacity to serve the growing community.

Grace Place Reopens

Grace Place Alzheimer’s Center officially reopens inside the Ed & Bobbie Masoro Alzheimer’s Center at the Campus of Grace.
