The AniMeals Program provides assistance in caring for the pets of seniors in San Antonio.

Would you like to help our seniors and their furry companions stay together? Join our AniMeals team today! We have the following volunteer opportunities:

DELIVERING ANIMEALS
AniMeals provides supplemental pet food on the third weekend of the month to over 250 clients. Routes and pet food are picked up at our Babcock location the Thursday and Friday of delivery week, and then delivered on your own time that weekend. To start delivering AniMeals, click HERE to submit a volunteer application at our Volunteer Portal and indicate “AniMeals” on the Volunteer Work Preference section.

TRANSPORT PET TO VET SERVICES
Volunteer to transport pets of our homebound seniors to and from the vet clinic for wellness services. Meals on Wheels provides pet carriers and covers the cost of services. This is a great volunteer opportunity for people who are comfortable handling pets! Transports occur Monday - Friday.

PET CARE
From time to time, we have clients who are unable to care for their pets due to poor eyesight, injuries or hospitalization. Volunteer to transport these pets for grooming appointments or take a dog walking around the block.

In cases of hospitalization, we reach out to AniMeals volunteers to open their home for a set period of time, usually a few days to a few weeks. AniMeals ensures that these pets are up to date on shots and can provide foster volunteers with pet food and supplies as needed. Volunteers are required to sign a foster agreement when taking any AniMeals pets into their home and a pet care agreement for other services.

I CAN'T VOLUNTEER, HOW ELSE CAN I HELP?

Each month we distribute over 5,000lbs of cat and dog food to our clients. Help us serve our clients by donating online or in-person.

Donate pet food from our Amazon Wishlist and it'll come straight to our door!

Make a donation and we'll make sure everyone gets the nutrition they need.
