Changes to Volunteer Meal Delivery Process

Dear Meals on Wheels San Antonio friends and family,

 

We are working hard everyday to meet the needs of the community and continuously adjusting our operations for the safety and health of our clients, volunteers, and staff.

 

Starting Monday, March 23 and carrying on indefinitely, meal delivery routes will pick up from our headquarters at 4306 NW Loop 410, 78229. 

 

From 10am – 11am we will have volunteers come through a drive-through pick-up line to gather meals. For the safety of our clients, all volunteers will have their temperatures checked. Anyone reading 99.5 or higher will be unable to deliver. Routes will be handed out at random, which means we will not be able to guarantee that you will get your regular routes to deliver. If you are unable to deliver or are uncomfortable delivering a route that is not yours, we understand! We also recommend that any volunteer who is 60 or older or has an underlying condition consider staying home.

 

As you may be aware, we are working to incorporate CDC practices of Social Distancing into everything we are doing, including meal pick-up and delivery.

 

You are amazing and we can’t begin to thank you for everything you are doing! We appreciate your understanding and patience as we work to safeguard your health and the health of all of our clients, volunteers, and staff.

 

 

If you’ve completed a referral or called for service please know that our client services team is working as quickly as possible to reach out to everyone for intake assessments.

 

If you’ve mailed in a donation, or given over the phone, please know that we are working as quickly as possible to mail receipts. If you give online and provide an email address then a receipt will be emailed to you.
