As the holiday season approaches, Meals on Wheels San Antonio is deeply committed to ensuring that no senior is forgotten this Thanksgiving. This year, we continue our annual Thanksgiving tradition of delivering 2,200 warm and nourishing meals to older and disabled neighbors in our community who may be spending Thanksgiving Day alone.
"It's been another year of the community facing extraordinary circumstances and San Antonio showing up for our older and disabled neighbors," said Vinsen Faris, Chief Executive Officer of Meals on Wheels. "We can never say thank you enough to the over 300 families of volunteers who make it possible to accomplish our goal of showing our clients they are seen and supported."
Thanks to the generosity of H-E-B, approximately 2,200 homebound Meals on Wheels clients will receive a hot Thanksgiving Day meal and a caring greeting on the holiday. Meals will include: turkey, dressing, creamy mashed potatoes, homestyle green beans, savory gravy, southern yams, and pumpkin pie.
Meals on Wheels continues to need your support this holiday season to keep providing this essential service to our seniors. A $9 donation helps provide a fresh, nutritious meal to seniors. You can help by clicking on the green button below!
