BUBBLE BATH CAR WASH PARTNERS WITH MEALS ON WHEELS

San Antonio’s locally owned and operated Bubble Bath Car Wash spread a little extra love and cheer this holiday season, delivering more than 2,000 handwritten christmas cards to homebound seniors, according to a press release.

Meals on Wheels of San Antonio (MOWSA) works hard to provide healthy, home-delivered meals to their clients in Atascosa County. Meals on Wheels serves thousands of Thanksgiving meals for the holiday

Hundreds of Meals On Wheels San Antonio volunteers delivered more than 2,000 Thanksgiving meals to families across San Antonio and Bexar County for the second time since the start of the pandemic.

Meals on Wheels food manager takes on challenges during pandemic and time of need

In April 2020, a series of obstacles threatened to inhibit the food operations at Meals on Wheels San Antonio.

The kitchen manager resigned. The COVID-19 pandemic hit. And several kitchen line workers departed as the demand for meals increased beyond 3,000.

Marycela Barron, director of Meals on Wheels, said the nonprofit worried about whether it would overwork the operations team as it scrambled to make more food for more clients. Every day was a guessing game.
